  1. Our schools participate in the Campbell's Labels for Education and Box Tops for Education.  If anyone has any to turn in, please do so by May 15, 2009.

 2. We have sweatshirts, t-shirts, and long sleeved t-shirts available for sale for $5.00.  These are older shirts and the sizes vary.  If anyone is interested, please send your request; we will see what we can do to fill it.

 3. We have the newer spirit wear still available for order.  The last order will be placed on May 8.  This will insure that the items are received before school is dismissed for the summer. 

 4. We have 52 boxes of the World's Finest chocolate left.  Some of the boxes will be available to the students for purchase during school.  If anyone is interested in selling additional candy, please let me know. 

 5. The next PTO meeting will be on May 14, 2009, at the Opdyke Building at 6:00 p.m.  Officers for the 2009-2010 PTO will be elected at that time.  Anyone who is interested in a position, please let me know by Monday, May 11.  We will be compiling a list to be presented to the membership for voting at the meeting.

 6. I personally want to extend a big "thank you" to those who have helped the current PTO throughout this school year.

MARCH 2009 PTO MEETING


March 12, 2009
 
Meeting was called to order at 5pm.
 
The man from Worlds Finest Chocolates talked about our spring fundraiser.  We have a kick off date of March 23 with an end date of April 15.
 
Mrs. Jukes and Mrs. Dailey reported to the pto about the AR books and tests.
 
A quote on new baseball uniforms was given. Would cost around $500.  Pto will tell Todd to get more quotes.
 
New Harmony, Ind field trip for the 6th grade will cost $17 per student.  Cindy motioned that the PTO pay for the trip, it was decided we would.
 
Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Rohr requested $20 for a rainforest unit they will be teaching.  They were given the money.
 
Mrs. Jukes had two requests for the PTO. The school needs a new Santa suit that will cost $300.  She also brought to our attention how much she needed 4 new computers for the computer lab at a cost of $400 each.  It was decided to purchase 3 computers and to wait on the santa suit.
 
Stacy Tate talked about the importance of parents joining the school boards committee's.
 
April 18 will be a spagetti/fettucine fundraiser at the Opdyke building.  Any money raised will go to the curriculum committee to purchase needed books.  The cost will be $8 for adults, $5 for students.  Pre-K and under are free.  There will be a cake walk and other activities throughout the night.
