![]() A Note from Mrs. Jukes |
One-fourth of the 2009-2010 school year has been completed. Time sure flies when you're having fun! And we sure are having lots of fun! It's exciting to come to school everyday and see our wonderful teachers teach and our wonderful children learn! I would like to remind you of the upcoming parent - teacher conferences which will take place on November 6. If you have not already done so, please sign up for a conference with your child's teacher. Communication between you and your child's teacher is a vital component in your child's success in school. H1N1 and other types of flu have been the big topic of conversation recently. It seems that many schools all around us have had several students and teachers out with the flu. So far, we have been very fortunate that the "flu bug" has not been to our school. (I'm afraid I may have just jinxed myself!) We are taking several precautions at school to help prevent the spread of illness. Teachers are encouraging (and reminding) students to wash their hands and cough and sneeze in their sleeves. They are also using lots of hand sanitizer. (We will gladly accept any donations of hand sanitizer.) Mr. Russell thoroughly cleans restrooms, sinks, faucets, drinking fountains, and door knobs at least once daily. We know that it's probably just a matter of time before it makes it to our school. However, we are trying to keep it away as long as we can. The next few months are jam-packed with activities. Look for the November addition of the newsletter which will be arriving in your mailbox very soon and be sure to mark your calendars. Until next time,
Mrs. Anna Jukes Principal, Belle Rive Attendance Center |
